Brit Olam in collaboration with some of the members of the Israeli Coalition for Relief Operations – a non formal net work of Aid and Relief organizations, (I Relief) has decided to organize a relief operation to aid the victims of the Georgian crisis.  

The overall goal of the operation is to aid the people of Georgia in facing the needs of the 160,000 refugees (I.D.P. – internal displaced people) and in organizing a specific reconstruction program in the devastated areas.

The Crisis in Georgia and Relief Requirements
Following an increase in the number of military incidents in early August 2008, the situation in the Georgian breakaway province of South Ossetia escalated in the early hours of August 8th into open hostilities.
