Tsunami Disaster

On Saturday, May 27, a 6.3-magnitude earthquake shook Java island in Indonesia. The earthquake left more than 6,200 people dead. The latest official figures for the number of wounded has doubled to just over 46,000, with more than 30,000 people suffering from serious trauma.Brit Olm is responding to the May 27 earthquake that hit Yogyakarta Indonesia.

Brit Olam's Response
Within days of the disaster the first of several Israeli relief teams were dispatched to the field to address the immediate survival needs of tsunami-affected communities. Several Israeli volunteer associations joined forces in Israel's humanitarian relief effort for the tsunami victims in Southeast Asia.
